How to add color to the garden- besides flowers

Hello all, this post is for all our readers who live in shade and can’t grow beautifully colored flowers. Or those who, let’s face it, kill most anything they touch. How do you have color in your garden?

Well, I have two simple suggestions! One, paint those pots! And, two, buy colorful outdoor pillows!!

As you can see, I painted the above pots a light lilac color. The color paint doesn’t have to be in your face, but it’s nice to have that pop of color when you have plants that otherwise don’t have it.

I got most of the plants pictured off the clearance rack at the garden store. So the blooms were faded or gone. But, with the colorful pots, the green really popped!

This is also an awesome way to refresh pots you’ve gotten second hand or are showing their age with cracks or other damage.

Another option is to purchase pillows that are colorful and fun. That way, you can still have color in your outdoor space even if you’re struggling with flowers.
