A celebration of the natural world, one fabulous party at a time.
It all began with a bumper crop of cucumbers.
One summer, my husband and I decided to transform our small patch of concrete in our backyard. We wondered what could be grown in a small garden in a big city? Turns out, quite a bit. Well, quite a bit of cucumbers that is. So we learned how to pickle, and invited friends and family to share in our pickled wealth.
This sparked our love for hosting gatherings showcasing nature’s beauty and bounty. Through this, we realized there was so much that brought to life a party already out there. So why buy new, and contribute to consumerism and waste? And we realized we weren’t the only ones who wanted to socialize with friends and family, while still maintaining sustainable lifestyles. So we started The Pickled Pair to share our thoughts and treasures with you.
Our family has since grown from just my husband and I to now include our two children. So we moved out of the city into the burbs where we have a bigger yard. Though not covered in concrete, the backyard is basically another blank slate to transform into a pollinator paradise.
So we are greatly looking forward to this new adventure and sharing our journey with you.
