Pickled Pair Tablescapes

Sustainably Social

There is no need to sacrifice style and beauty when using sustainable practices. In fact, by stepping off the consumer driven highway, you can find sideways and byways filled with beautiful, unique things.

The below posts highlight the way I’ve used thrifted, found, and up-cycled items to create “tablescapes.” A tablescape is a complete design for entertaining guests. The design includes a table runner, glassware, and a dining set among other things.

How is it sustainable? In a number of ways.

  • First, I sewed the tables runners and cloth napkins using thrifted table clothes, pillowcases, and/or leftover fabric gotten second hand.

  • Second, I made the wine charms using thrifted, repurposed jewelry.

  • Third, I thrifted the plates, silverware and glassware. These were sourced from estate sales, Goodwill, and yard sales.

  • Fourth, and finally, the flowers were all locally grown.
